Hike #46: Annette Lake
November 14, 2015
Mileage: 7.5 roundtrip
Elevation Gain: 1400 ft.
One of the last lake hikes I’ll be doing this year, I think. Made it to the parking lot quite early – only the second car there. The trail was crisscrossed by small streams much of the way up, but quite passable. The deepest crossing was right after the junction with the Iron Horse Trail, and I actually took my shoes off and waded through on the way up rather than douse my boots.
The many little waterfalls and other streams were very lovely.
There were also a few nice clearings through which the slopes across the way were visible, with just a dusting of snow at the top.
When I reached the lake I stopped for just a few moments – it was raining quite a bit. The lake is a lovely greenish blue color with lovely rushing falls at one end. I didn’t continue around the lake but turned around to head back to the car.
