Hike #5: Camano Island State Park

April 1, 2017

Another forgotten hike, found whilst searching through my memory cards. Forgotten for blogging purposes anyway – it was otherwise a very memorable meander along the beach and through the park, mostly for this reason:

We saw an octopus.

It was completely incredible. They are such fascinating creatures. This one was tiny – photo with my hand nearby for scale. The poor thing didn’t look as though it was doing too well – nature is rough – but it was quite an amazing sight all the same.

We also enjoyed eating snacks in the sun on driftwood logs, checking out vistas from the top of the cliffs, and enjoying spotting some tidal creatures during our beach walk.
