Hike #41: Paradise Valley Conservation Area, Part I
October 14, 2015
Mileage: 2 roundtrip
Elevation Gain: Negligible
This week I began a new job. It’s been really good so far – the work is interesting, the people are lovely, there are some neat perks – but it’s also been a little bit overwhelming. There’s a lot of adjusting and catching up to do before I’ll feel stable and in control, and new technology, a new commute, and socializing with new people all managed to exhaust me by midweek.
So what better way to relax and regroup than with a short hike near my new workplace?
After work on Wednesday I drove up to the Paradise Valley Conservation Area.
It was quiet and still and just what I needed to clear my head. Lots of neat mushrooms and the afternoon light was sublime.
The park has a lovely network of trails, and though I kept my walk pretty brief this week, I’d like to return on another weekday evening to explore some more.
Congrats on the new job! Those trails look lovely.
